Nor’easter’s coming

Update, January 27, 3:52 p.m.: They called this one pretty well, per the unofficial snowfall and wind results posted as of this writing. Top snowfall: 35 inches. Top wind speeds: 78 mph (gust), 59 mph (sustained).

I heard about the storm and checked the Taunton, Massachusetts, NWS site. This is impressive (emphasis added):

Here’s where you can track the storm in Canada.

Jeez, the only thing I’ve got to look forward to, out here in Oregon, is the 315th anniversary of a major earthquake.

By the way, that’s 20-30 inches before drifting caused by those powerful winds. Wow.

They’re also expecting “moderate to isolated pockets of major coastal flooding..along with severe beach erosion.” That’s gonna register on the seismographs, for sure.

Be safe. Be warm. Be prepared, if you’re in the area (and if you are, I know you’re not reading this right now – you’re waiting in the checkout line with a cart full of supplies).

Don’t forget your outside pets!
