Welcome, Tolkien fans!

Wow! Sunday’s post on “Mount Doom,” a/k/a Mounts Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe in New Zealand, has spurred a run on the Minas Tirith series I did a while back, as well as the post on stone giants and endoliths.

I just wanted to mention that over on my other blog, Flight to Wonder, I’m doing a series on the jewels specifically mentioned in JRRT’s Errantry, if you’re interested. These are:

  • Crystal (includes links to earlier posts on diamonds and emeralds)
  • Chalcedony, and
  • Malachite
  • Next Thursday (October 16th), I’ll be looking at the biological treasures Tolkien mentioned: coral and ivory.

Thank you very much for your interest!
