I got delirious this past Sunday and took a lot of pictures on the walk to the library. Late September is always so depressing on the East Coast: the brief summer is over; there is gray and dull brown everywhere; and everything in the natural world is either dying or going to sleep.
In the Oregon rainforest, there is the ending of some things, sure, but life goes on, too. Autumn here is as vibrant as spring, in its own way. I’m so glad I moved here!
Of note, judging by the current weather forecast, I might have gotten these shots on one of the last sunny days before the rainy season starts.
(The Canon Powershot is excellent for closeups but its limits were pushed with some of the longer shots. This is why I haven’t done a gallery on the incredible trees here yet.)
