Let’s go to Colima Volcano!

Update, February 25, 2015: PhotoVolcanica has posted a beautiful video of Colima, day and night eruptions and an overflight!

Original post:

Mexico’s Colima Volcano put on some fireworks last week. (Link is to Spanish-language site, but there are lots of pictures!)

Colima is the most active volcano in Mexico. It’s actually a volcanic complex, with the most prominent members being Nevado de Colima and Volcan de Fuego (technically, this is the one people talk about as Colima Volcano).

Colima sits near populated areas, but its last large explosive eruption – VEI 5 – happened in 1913 (Spanish).

Let’s go there!
