“From The New World” – Dvorak

Remember Edvard Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” and that Star Wars chord? Well, here’s more stirring classical music that will probably sound a little familiar in parts. It certainly can unleash a movie in your head, too.

This is the best performance of it that I’ve ever come across. Don’t worry about the German, if you can’t read it (and I can’t). There’s no dialogue or singing – just powerful instrumentals that have influenced 21st-century movie soundtracks so much that it’s hard to believe it all was written in the 19th century.
