Things are rocking in the “day job,” so I’ll have to be kind of short with posts this weekend. Here is a silent movie that needs no introduction.
But first, let’s watch another Buster Keaton short – a Romeo-and-Juliet story called Neighbors. It has an extended scene with his dad Joe that probably is reminiscent of the family’s old “Three Keatons” act.
Also, enjoy the acrobatics when Buster’s vaudeville friends the Flying Escalantes assist with shenanigans after the almost father-in-law kidnaps the bride!
As a segue, here’s Lon Chaney appearing normally in The Miracle Man (1919) and Buster Keaton decked out for a horror show in 1961 called The Twilight Zone!
And now, ladies and gentleman, our Saturday feature, Lon Chaney in The Phantom of the Opera!
The Phantom of the Opera
The image on the front page is from the excellent Horrorpedia post on this movie (but be aware that there are some small, disturbing images, with blood and nudity, on the sidebar at that link).
